About

Hi, I’m Lacey—though around here, I write as L.R. Ashcroft.

I write women’s fiction and romantic comedies about love, friendship, second chances, and finding your way back to yourself. My stories live in the complicated, beautiful mess of being human—where heartbreak and hope often go hand in hand.

By day, I’m an elementary school teacher. By night, I’m a writer chasing quiet moments to put words to the feelings we don’t always say out loud. I’m also a native Texan and a mom of five, balancing life between lesson plans, dance drop-offs, soccer games, and everything in between.

My novels include HTX, a story of heartbreak, identity, and self-discovery set in Houston’s glittering social scene, and Chief Stew, a Caribbean yacht rom-com filled with slow-burn chemistry, found family, and crew chaos.

Thanks for being here. I’m so glad you are.

5 Fun Facts About Me

✨ My go-to coffee order? A soy vanilla latte—bonus points if I’m sipping it in peace.
✨ I’m a Bravo girl, through and through. Give me yacht drama, housewives chaos, or any over-the-top vacation episode and I’m all in.
✨ I got engaged and married on St. John, so beach life is more than a vibe—it’s my reset button.
✨ If Mexican food were a personality type, I’d be it. Chips and salsa are basically a food group in my world.
✨ Flip flops > real shoes. Always. Year-round. Even if I technically shouldn’t.
